New curtain painting
The skull manta ray!
20th April 2020. This is the 39th day of the lockdown.
I have ran out all clays and painted a lot on the paper. I have finished the consulting job today. I have cleaned, cooked and even messed around with my cats. I start to feel very bored….Suddenly, I saw the curtains! They are so ” white”!! They need some color on.
It was like this; pretty “boring”, like my lockdown mood!
I was thinking to paint some octopus. However there are many octopuses in my house already. I need to be creative; otherwise it is also boring, isn’t it?
Rays is a good choice. They are free and elegant. So I have decide they will stay on my wall!
Look at it. It is lovely.
I will paint another curtain this week and I will post on it.

Hope 希望 2006 – Artist: Ya-Chien Cheng
This painting was done by Ya-Chien Cheng ( YCC) in 2006. It was one of her paintings shows her belief of her lift.
Ya-Chien was striving for establishing her new life in the UK after the MBA graduation. With the difficulties of the cultural difference and the language barrier, it was hard for her to get a proper job after her study. Therefore she spent her spare time on art creations because she believes people must enjoy the present time, additionally, art always brings her joy.
In this painting, a “face”, similar to a Chinese character” HEART (心), looks toward the light when it is surrounded by the numerous mess surrounded. Ya-Chien feels she will never give herself up even when the environment frustrating and unclear. She believes there is always hope in our life; the key point is your attitude.
The sea in a London house
I made this painting few years ago when I was doing the short lets.
I was thinking…. ” so big wall and so empty.. why not create something fun??”
And I always love sea… so it will be cool to have a piece of ocean in my house.
You could see the final result. The painting starts from the ground floor to the first floor. All guests love this painting and eventually this painting increase the rental value of the house.

The aqua bathroom
Bathrooms are one of the most important feature in every home. How to make this area very personal, fun and relaxed? I guess customised it will be a good idea.
As the original wall does not have any water proof function, I had to mix the special paint to create this protection. I have mixed the waterproof paint from La Pajarita and Liquitex pouring medium to create this special paint.
The first part I was painting was the rough wall area. I used a natural sponge to dip lots of the waterproof paint to stop any concrete falling. After that I sprayed some metallic solution to create the shinning sea feeling.
I am always a mermaid fan. I imaged I am the one and soaking in the bathtub. Of course the sexy tail has to stay outside to show this exotic picture. Voila, you could see the extended me there!!
Octopus and I are very similar. Both of us are alines. They have 3 hearts and high IQ…. And I have 3 times imagination and super creativity……
So this sea monster is perfect in my bathroom.

Romantic lighting are necessary. Here is my DIY chandelier made from ” eaten by me scallop and hand dive sea snails”. Also the cool ” black tuxedo” candle with sea shells/ sea urchins.
This is the ” almost final” look of the bathroom. Of course I will always add some new features as I am easy to get bored and I always want something “new”.

Catch*Cook*Eat
After setting trap and hunting ( only sea urchins and sea snails) yesterday, my plan was just taking the trap back; plus taking some photos and videos while snorkelling. I brought the secret weapon ” Weefine” phone housing with me, put on the real diving suit, then I go!
There was no luck in the trap except this tiny crab. Could you find it underwater?? I can’t with its disguise. Anyway, it was too small and carries some eggs, so I let it go.
Lots of fish underwater and all followed me!!
During the photos/ video session, I found two fish behaved strange. They look like they are guarding something. It looks familiar to me; it was the same theme when I found my first octopus.
Voila! It is the octopus!!!

Hmmmm, time for me to practice the free diving and prove my IQ is higher than octopus.
The result proves I am not only a good free diver but also have good IQ. The octopus was in my net and I am ready to bring it home!!

Today is still a beautiful day
I love sea since I was a child. And I am very lucky to have a flat next to the sea in Mallorca. I could go snorkeling or free diving anytime I want to.
Today is a good day. And I could not wait to try my new mermaid wet suit.
With my weight on, plus the diving knife. I am ready to go!!!

I have swam a lot today. I set up the trap for octopus and eels first. Then I started to do free diving to find some sea urchins and sea snails.
Voila, see what I caught!!
Lots of sea urchins and large sea snails!! It is my lucky day :-)).
And on my way back, I kept praying to get one starfish. I have seen one long time ago nearby my place, but it was too deep for me to go down. After that I didn’t see any starfish again. So I am really lucky today!!!
Well, I am a foodie and a good cook. Therefore I created one special amuse Bouche.
Smoke salon with caviar. Sea snail plus fig jam completed with sea urchin.
